WHAT'S ON
Buccleuch Cup Day with Food & Farming Marquee
Monday 2nd April
The Buccleuch Cup Maiden Hunter Chase is aimed specifically at amateur jockeys and horses who are affiliated with the Point-to-Point association and have been running in local point to points throughout the season,
These horses are not to have won a race under rules (Steeple Chase, Hurdle Race, National Hunt Race or Flat Race) instilling great sense of local rivalry and attracting southern visitors to race in one of the richest Hunter Chases in the country.
The Buccleuch Cup was last year won by the Vicky Simpson owned and trained Hold on Julio, who, since being sold to Alan King has gone on to win a further 3 times developing into a leading contender for the Cheltenham Festival.
Monday 2nd April will also feature the Food & Farming Marquee. There are so many opportunities available to agricultural businesses in the Borders and North Northumberland; we thought that by assembling a variety of managers, customers and employees we could encourage networking and potentially build successful new relationships and promote all that is so exceptionally good in “The Borders”
We will be selling tables of ten (however smaller tables can be accommodated), reserved for the whole afternoon in our Pavilion Marquee which overlooks the paddock. The marquee contains a pay bar with draught beer, larger, wines and spirits, a tote facility and race day television, with the action on the track only a short walk away.
Many of you will be familiar with Rosie Cully, our fantastic caterer within the marquee and neighboring Rosie’s Bistro; she has put together a great two course menu followed by tea or coffee.
Above all, we want the day to be really enjoyable and useful, the package includes Members enclosure entrance to the race course, race programmes and of course the delicious two course lunch within the marquee.
If you require any further information or would like to book a table at our “Food & Farming Day” please do not hesitate to contact the Kelso Office on 01668 280 800 or email
